Miroslav Kodym: HAS THE STATE OF MARTIAL ARTS AFFAIRS IMPROVED AFTER THE REVOLUTION?
A philosophical reflection on the influence of social changes and open post-revolution opportunities on martial arts in the Czech Republic during the last ten years. One has to state an extreme boom of martial arts, their medial publicity, tens of different schools and concepts, occurrence of the most various teachers in this period. Scramble for success and money, commercialisation, advertising, globalisation and liberalisation concern the common social life, naturally there is no exception for martial arts. The same goes for ethics and morals as well. Need to struggle to bring martial arts and sports back to the ideas of a man's harmonic physical and psychical development, to hold them for a means to reach the required moral and ethical qualities, is emphasized.

Angelika Janků: INTERVIEW WITH LISA HEIZ
Lisa Heiz is a Swiss ACSA member since 1989, the 2nd dan bearer now. She shares her experience with aikido with the Czech akidokai and declares the meaning of aikido for her life and work in a prison for juvenile criminals in the interview, that has been carried out during the CAA Winter School 1999.

Miroslav Kodym: ARMED TRAINING IN THE AIKIDO KENKYUKAI PRAHA DOJO (part I)
NOTES
A self-critical article introduces a series of author's contributions on the armed training, which has become an integral part of the aikido training in the AKP dojo. M. Kodym confesses his non-systematic approach to the armed trainings, mentions his teachers, admits an insufficient personal experience and profound study and exploitation of information resources while writing these articles. Any observation is welcome.
